Lesson 4: the Differences between “How to Be an Exceptional CEO”

This is your 4th lesson at TPS Executive Academy– the Differences between “How to Be an Exceptional CEO.”

In the last 3 videos, we have discussed what stop leaders from good to great internally and externally and why we should target issues with the right tools instead of IQ, EQ and behavior tools alone.  This lesson will give you a classic example.

Most institutions, including top MBAs, develop leaders through IQ, EQ and behavior tools alone.  They are not aware that partial approaches and pattern recognition are the causes of their poor results and time loss.

For example, McKinsey released its CEO study on what makes a CEO “exceptional” based on their pattern recognition among a big data, including behavior analytics.  Here are their 3 key findings.

1. Come in from the outside,
2. Change the strategy within the first 2 years.
3. Reshuffle the management team AFTER the first 2 years and balance the much change the institution can absorb.

Should every CEO come from outside?  What if an organization cannot afford the 2 years to warm up?

Here is How to Be an Exceptional CEO?” at TPS Executive Academy.  Go to read the article now and compare the two approaches.

Challenges and disruptions can emerge anytime.  Not every leader has what he or she should, which makes it all the more critical to use the right tools and strategies to get ahead and stay ahead in today’s world.
